The Story

You have walked through the whole museum: the building, blue-and-white, textiles, tea, Buddhist art, and the galleries of wisdom and craft. Now you will put it together. Your task is a capstone: prepare and perform a two-minute English tour of one object or gallery you love.

A good short tour has a clear shape. Welcome your visitors and say what they are about to see. Describe the object: its material, its look, one interesting detail. Then give it meaning — why it matters, how it connects to the rest of Asia. Finally, invite a question and thank them.

Speak slowly, smile, and use the phrases you have collected. You do not need long words; you need clear ones. Remember the very first lesson: a docent is not someone who knows everything — a docent is someone who helps others see.

“Speak slowly. Smile. Use clear words, not long ones. Help them see.”
